Love Bedtime This Time of Year!

Hurray, it’s bedtime!!! But first, let’s do a little skin care. My skin care routine is not super involved, so don’t blink or you’ll miss it. This is one of those quality over quantity scenarios, where the low number of steps and products still lack a punch.

I am a pretty low maintenance person when it comes to things like hair and skin care. For example, I cut my own hair, I might add some box highlights once or twice a year in the winter, I do my own manis and pedis (the occasional pedicure with a friend is a treat, though!), and I don’t do any professional procedures or treatments on my face/skin because, I don’t know, I just haven’t, (tell me all about what you do!) so that is how I justify the higher price tag for the products I use. All about the trade offs!

All About That Face

I have been using Sunday Riley products since right around the pandemic. I was gifted a monthly box where you got a bunch of different kinds of sample sizes of products, and these were my favorites. I’ll do another post about the products I use during the day, but let’s look at my nighttime go-tos. All of this starts with a clean face, so do that first.

  1. Sunday Riley A+ is a high-dose retinoid serum that fights the signs of aging and improves the look of congested and UV damaged skin. I spent my summers growing up at the beach or lifeguarding, so I have my fair share of sun damage. This has really helped (when I use it consistently) reduce the dark spots I have and smooths out my complexion overall. Ease into using it if you are new to retinol/retinoids and definitely only use it at night.

  2. Sunday Riley Juno Face Oil is my jam! I didn’t think I would want to add oil to my face, but my goodness it is awesome. It has all kinds of antioxidant-rich, superfood seed oils, and it is like food for your skin.

  3. Sunday Riley Ice is a ceramide-enriched moisturizer that does an incredible job of hydrating your skin and keeping things soft and smooth. It is a great partner to A+.

Let’s Do It!

Ready for the fastest skin routine ever? Great!

  1. Wash and dry your face. I am currently using CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser.

  2. I use one, maybe two pumps of A+, combined with about 5-6 drops, to an entire dropper of Juno depending on if my skin is feeling particularly parched. Mix them together in your palms.

  3. Pat the mixture onto your face. I do my best not to rub or stretch my skin too much. I apply to my face, neck/throat, upper chest, ears, and back of my neck. Basically any skin that shows when you are wearing a v neck shirt.

  4. Get a not too big, but not too small dollup of Ice, and use the same application methodology to get it on your skin. Let that really lock in all of the good stuff before you drift off to sleep.

  5. Wake up to softer, more dewy skin!

I hope you love these products as much as I do! Leave a comment or subscribe to see more things like this. Good night and sweet dreams!
